It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood, and Sun Lakers lined the route of the annual 4th of July parade. Spectators gaily dressed in red, white, and blue cheered the colorfully decorated golf carts.
After the parade, they crowded into the Main Clubhouse ballroom for a delicious home-style meal of hotdogs, hamburgers, coleslaw, and beans. The ballroom filled up quickly, so hungry Sun Lakers dined on the Veranda, and in the restaurant and Lounge with family and friends.
Festivities on the lawn and on the driving range began soon after lunch. Music filled the air, and guests enjoyed wearing balloon hats, participating in a dance contest, getting their faces painted (grandchildren, mostly), cheering at a hula hoop contest and an Uncle Sam race. The afternoon events were topped off by the ever-familiar, eagerly anticipated watermelon eating contest.
Sun Lakers love to party, eat, dress up, and have fun with friends, and they certainly celebrated Independence Day 2018 in their usual style.
