Sun Lakes Women’s USTA Tennis Team

Pictured above is the Sun Lakes Women’s USTA Tennis Team. This was the first time a women’s team from Sun Lakes advanced to the State Sectionals. The amazing fact is that they were competing in the 18 and over age group, Tri Level. It is quite difficult to compete against 18 year olds since most of the team is 55 and over. After one tough match, Michele Walter, noted that “ it is like competing against your daughter or granddaughter.” The team members are from left to right bottom row, Michele Walter co captain, Cesaria Vasquez, Ricki Rogow, top row, Captain Tammy Pronenko, Janey Whitney, Sally Jo Schwartz, Scipia Curtis and Cristina Reed. Congratulations to the Sun Lakes Women’s USTA Tennis Team.

Sun Lakes’ residents and their guests filled the Main Clubhouse on New Year’s Eve to welcome in the new year and a new decade.

Beginning in January 2020, all Art League general meetings will be on the 2nd Sunday of each month at 2 p.m. in the South Clubhouse.

The first night of Hanukkah was another chilly one, but a devoted group of Yiddish Culture Club members and guests huddled together in the MCH parking lot for the lighting of the Sun Lakes Menorah, which stands in the grassy area just opposite the portico.
