Dear editor,

While the Roe v Wade controversy is raging, I would like to give my perspective. I am coming from a Christian point of view.

When you buy a toy, a shelf or something that you need to put together the manufacturer includes instructions. If you follow the instructions all is well, but if you fail to follow them, you may have to disassemble the product and start over again.

The same concept applies to humans. Our Creator knows us and what is best for us. He has given us instructions for everything in the Holy Scriptures. Most of us have seen, heard or know of the 10 commandments. Number 6 says, "Thou shalt not kill” (murder) Exodus 20:15. Exodus 23:7 says, "Slay not the righteous or the innocent."

Israel had joined the surrounding evil nations worshipping Baal and burning their children as sacrifices to the false god. In Jeremiah 7:31, God commanded them to not do this and added, "Neither came it into His heart."

Lastly, in Deuteronomy 30:19, God puts before us LIFE AND DEATH. "Choose life so that you and your seed may live." These same scriptures were for Israel then and apply to us today.

Remember the old saying: When all else fails read the instructions. It can keep us out of a lot of remorse and trouble.
