Our beloved dad, brother, and uncle, Miguel V. Obregon entered into the kingdom of heaven on July 07, 2019 at the age of 91.
He was born in San Antonio on May 08, 1928 to Cornelio and Rosa Obregon.
Miguel, who was known as Mike to many, died peacefully in his home in Banning where he resided for 57 years.
As a young boy he traveled with his family from Texas to Michigan for work in the fields.
He was the eighth of nine siblings.
He stayed in Adrian, Mich. as a young man and married his wife Veronica, where their first four children were born.
He and his family attended Iglesia Bautista Cristiana Church in Adrian, where he played the guitar for the worship team.
He wrote Christian songs in Spanish and taught his children to sing Psalm 121 in Spanish.
Work was hard to find, so in February of 1962 he packed up and drove his family to Coachella in search of work.
About August of 1962, he moved his family to Banning and began his job at the Deutsch Company where he worked for about 16 years.
He then began driving semi trucks cross country for a short time.
He also worked at Fore Quarter Distribution, Yates Industry, Perricone Juice and drove the Dial a Ride Bus for the city of Banning.
He enjoyed his jobs and enjoyed working on projects around the house — even working on a red wheelbarrow last September.
He is survived by his children, Evita Obregon, Joann Obregon, Becky Cisneros and Michael Obregon Jr.; as well as his sister and brother-in-law Angel and Esther Ojeda of Arizona; many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Veronica M. Obregon and daughter Abigail L. Rodriguez.
