Mary M. Quiroz

Beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-Grandmother.

Entered eternal life on her birthday May 24, 2019 in Banning, surrounded by her family at the age of 88.

She was born in Banning on Alola Street to Carmen Martinez on May 24, 1931.

She was married at the age of 15 to her beloved husband Pasqual.

They lived in Banning, Palm Springs, and Cathedral City; raised her children, Grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who gave her much love and joy.

She loved to cook and clean, worked for many movie stars and met many presidents.

She was a member of the Mexican Colony Club, which helped raise money to help build Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Palm Springs.

In her later years she started making her famous Tamales.

Everyone in the Coachella Valley and beyond had tasted some of her delicious tamales.

She is survived by her daughter Erlinda Diaz (Joseph), brother Gilbert Martinez (Kathy), grandchildren Gina Diaz (Chico), Mario Diaz (Tina), Rebecca Quiroz, Monica Quiroz (Chris Munoz) and Yolanda Rosales (Tommy); Francisco and Maricela Rodriguez and family; as well as 26 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren — and many more family and friends.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 67 years Pasqual Quiroz; son Paul “Bebe” Quiroz; mother Carmen Martinez; brother Cruz (Cuta) Martinez; grandson Joseph Paul Diaz; and great-grandson John Paul Diaz.

Services will be held on Thursday June 6, 2019 at 9:30 a.m., rosary at 10 a.m., and Mass to be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 204 S. Calle El Segundo, Palm Springs.

Burial will be at Desert Memorial Park, 31705 Da Vall Dr. Cathedral City.

Reception will be held back at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
