Former Beaumont City Councilman Mark Orozco was denied a request for release from jail on July 8 and will return to Riverside County Superior Court for a July 25 hearing, according to the Riverside County Probation Department.

Orozco requested a new hearing. He was taken back into custody on July 3 after a hearing for his arrest on June 28 for violating his probation terms regarding his Grand Jury indictment in 2017.

His bail was set at $50,000.
