Authorities are investigating a fatal accident at a local McDonald's.

On Saturday, Dec. 8 shortly after 1:30 p.m., Beaumont Police Department received a 911 call in reference to a driver who was injured and unresponsive in the drive thru lane of a restaurant located in the 1400 block of E. 2nd Street Marketplace.

Investigators found a female driver pinned in between her vehicle and the restaurant.

The Beaumont Police Department and Riverside County Cal Fire extricated the driver and rendered medical aid.

The driver, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin, was transported to an area hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

During preliminary investigation of the collision it appears that the female driver had entered the drive-thru lane of the restaurant and had attempted to exit her vehicle without placing the vehicle in park.

The vehicle continued moving forward, running over the driver and pinning the woman between the vehicle and the wall of the business, causing the fatal injuries.
