Mt. San Jacinto College San Jacinto and San Gorgonio Pass campuses are closed to students and the public today, Thursday, May 1, due to high winds.

MSJC cancelled classes and closed the campuses to ensure safety of students and visitors.

MSJC officials will continue to monitor weather and safety conditions.

MSJC Alert text messages and e-mails will be sent to those who have provided updated information via Eagle Advisor. Information will also be posted on the college web site and Facebook page about the status of the San Jacinto and Pass campuses as soon as it comes available.

The RTA bus stop on the Pass campus is also closed. The nearest bus stop is at Sunset and Ramsey.

Please check road closures www.dot.ca.gov/cgi-bin/roads.cgi and weather information www.weather.gov prior to leaving to determine the conditions and best route of travel. Consider your safety first when making traveling decisions.

MSJC’s Menifee and Temecula locations remain open.

Banning Police Department seek help in finding the person responsible for a hit and run in front of the Banning Post Office near the corner of Alessandro Road and Williams Street around 4:30 p.m. today.

A truck fire caused a traffic shutdown on the eastbound lanes of the I-10 freeway near Cherry Valley Boulevard (and, vicariously, slowing the opposite traffic slowing to see the activity on the westbound) according to Officer Edward Nunez of the California Highway Patrol.

On Tuesday, Nov. 6 shortly before 7 a.m. hours, Banning Police Department patrol personnel were dispatched to a suspicious circumstances call at San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital located at 600 N. Highland Springs Ave. in Banning.
