On Tuesday, Nov. 6 shortly before 7 a.m. hours, Banning Police Department patrol personnel were dispatched to a suspicious circumstances call at San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital located at 600 N. Highland Springs Ave. in Banning.

The reporting party, who is a hospital employee, stated that an adult male arrived at the hospital with a 2 year-old female toddler who was not breathing.

It was also reported that the toddler had an apparent head injury.

Banning Police responded to the location and learned that the toddler had in fact sustained head trauma and that the toddler had succumbed to the injuries sustained.

Banning Police Department Detectives were summoned to the location and assumed the investigation.

During the investigation, detectives learned the two-year-old victim had sustained severe head and body trauma. After obtaining an original statement from the child’s father, Dany Vidaury, 35, of Banning, and evidence associated with this case, Vidaury’s account of the incident did not coincide with evidence obtained by Detectives. Vidaury was subsequently placed under arrest for the death of the toddler.

Detectives also obtained evidence days prior; the toddler was in good health and spirits. Vidaury took care and custody of the child on Nov. 1, 2018 and during that time; Vidaury was the sole caretaker and person in contact with the child.

The two-year-old sustained head injuries and bruising throughout her body, which resulted in her death.

The Banning Police Department is continuing their investigation into this case and requests the public’s help with any information they may have about Vidaury. The public is urged to contact the Banning Police Department at (951) 922-3170.
