A 58-year-old Beaumont man was injured Tuesday afternoon when he rode his bicycle into a motorist heading west on First Street, according to Beaumont Police Commander Greg Fagan.

The accident occurred at 2:09 p.m. when John Vingo was riding his bicycle eastbound on First, close to Maple Avenue, when he rode into a car, said Fagan.

The motorist didn't see Vingo, said Fagan. Beaumont Police, CalFire and AMR responded to the scene. Vingo was complaining of pain to his head and may have suffered potential broken arms.

He was transported to Riverside County Regional Medical Center.
