My name is Natalie Newbold and I’m the salutatorian. It has been a long and rough four years but look, I made it… We made it!

On this journey through high school I found God. I recently got saved last year. I owe all my successes to God, without him I don’t know where I would be. God brought me to Calvary Christian in my freshman year.

I was hesitant coming to a new school; but since then, I met so many wonderful people who helped me grow and mature into the person I am today. I have been told that I wouldn’t make it and I’m not a hard worker but standing here in a cap and gown proves them wrong.

Yes, the senior graduating class of 2019 is small but each of these wonderful people impacted my life greatly. I will remember you guys forever.

I definitely have to say Younger Mr.S was my favorite teacher at CCS. He helped me understand the Bible in great depth and actually made class fun. I will never forget the times in class where we all made jokes and all we could do was laugh and laugh while getting our work done of course. I know you will miss our class. We are all graduating so now you don’t have to deal with us any more (haha).

As it says in Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and he shall direct thy paths.” I want my fellow graduates to remember that passage and keep it in their hearts when they go out into the world. If you keep God in your heart he will lead you to where you need to be. So, don’t be worried if you aren’t sure about your future yet.

My grandma, Melanie Newbold, has been pushing me to do my best since elementary school. She told me to get good grades on everything, from small projects to finals. She expected me to get A’s in all my classes and slowly but surely I expected the same from myself.

My dad, Chris Newbold, has always helped me with everything and I know he will always help me no matter what and I know he wants me to succeed and prosper.

My sister, Valerie Newbold, is one of my stress relievers. She and I agree on most things which is why I like talking to her (haha). Over the years my family was blessed with three new baby cousins. They all have a great impact on all our lives and I love them all. I try working hard in school to show them that working hard will get you places. I know my family wants to see me succeed in life and I hope I make them proud.

My boyfriend, Jared, has been pushing me to do my ultimate best in school. He has been there for me and believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself and in times when I would break down in tears and wanted to give up. His family, the Becerra’s, have been there for me and helped me when I needed it the most. I know you guys have my back too.

I could never thank you guys enough for how much you helped me. I know I never say this enough but I love you all. Every one of you helped me in many great ways. And you all still continue to impact my life and help me through tough decisions every day. I could never have done any of this without you guys.

In the fall I will be attending California Baptist University! I am beyond grateful to be attending a Christian college so I don’t lose my faith as I move on in my life. I know God is leading me there. I will be majoring in nursing. I love helping and taking care of people so I know it’s a perfect fit for me!

And again, a big great thank you to everyone that has helped me through high school. I know you will all be there helping me as I go on to the next part of my life, college. I will sincerely miss this school, and my friends I’m leaving behind. But I’ll be back to visit you all again soon.

Thank you, and have a wonderful night.
