Bob and Ann Botts celebrate 50th wedding anniversary at 80

Former Banning city councilman Bob Botts and his wife Ann, now residents of Redlands, recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary along with their 80th birthdays.

Friends joined Bob and Ann and their family at the Contemporary Club in Redlands for a Reception and Program. Joining the Botts’ were two of their three daughters, Kris Farina and her husband Randy of Redlands and children, Peggy Pottenger and husband Matthew of Annandale, Va. and their children, and the children and husbands of daughter Robin Earle and Marcus Earle of Chandler, Ariz. who were unable to attend due illness. Numerous other family members were introduced.

160 Friends from Southern California and various parts of the U.S. joined the Botts as the entire family was introduced and a Video of their life was played. The Bottses have lived in Southern California their entire life.

Ann served on the San Bernardino Unified School District School board of trustees as well as the city council, and served in various leadership positions in community organizations. Husband Bob ran for the state legislature as well as the city council of Banning where he served for eight years as mayor and chairman of the Redevelopment Agency.

He currently serves on the Redlands Planning Commission.

The Bottses also owned and operated Botts Baby News Children Department Store in Santa Maria.

While Ann’s duties and responsibilities were focused on raising the family and serving the Community, Bob worked for Santa Fe Federal Savings and loan for 15 years as executive vice president for retail banking.

Before retiring he also served as chief operating officer for Redlands-based Garner Holt Productions, Inc. and has now come out of retirement to work for the company again.

Ann and Bob said, “The good Lord has blessed us for these many years with wonderful family members and friends who have loved and supported us, and we thank them so much for their continuing love and caring.”
