Bill and Mary (Lopez) Hershey

Celebrating 60 years of marriage are Bill and Mary (Lopez) Hershey, who were married on Sept. 1, 1957 at The Evangelical United Brethren Church in Santa Cruz, N.M. Dr. Glen F. McCracken, superintendent of McCurdy Mission School, where the newlyweds graduated, officiated at the ceremony. Bill and Mary continued their education at Westmar College in LeMars, Iowa, where they earned their degrees; then moved to Beaumont. Both became educators. Bill retired in 2002 after 45 years of service. Mary retired in 1996, completing 37 years as a bilingual teacher. They have a son, Charles; a daughter, Krista; and a grandchild, Preston. Their home is now in Banning. They celebrated their anniversary with family and friends.
